My mind is too full today (and too tired) to put down a coherent thought. So today I am just going to leave you with a picture and a song.
The picture was taken a few years ago at a place called Inspiration Hills. I attended a women’s retreat this past weekend; at this same place. (No snow this year, but I love this particular picture of this amazing place.) There was much time spent serving and not so much sleep, but oh, so very many blessings.
Amazing women, messages of hope, restoration, fellowship, faith, time to linger and be still, time to laugh and cry…….a great weekend!
The song I share with you is one we sang a lot this year and has come to be a personal favorite. It is titled, “No Longer Slaves”.
I hope you are as blessed by this song as I was. The words are almost more than I can take in…..No longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God. What a promise!
Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
Yes, I will help you.
Isaiah 41:10
New Heart English Bible
What a promise indeed! And something to be truly thankful for!

You would not believe how long it took me to type so few words!

I would…I’m sitting here doing exactly the same thing…lost and just about to post something totally lame for tomorrow. Maybe by Wednesday it will be relevant!
I love that song by the way!

I must have been really nice to go for this Retreat, meet so many people, exchange stories, inspire some, help some, learn some !!
The song is also lovely to the soul.

fear is something i’ve struggled with a lot.

I always wonder if that is a woman thing? But then I think guys have fear also….they probably just fear different things.
I know in the Bible there are 365 verses on “fear not”. I thought that was pretty cool….one for each day of the year. Now if I could just get my heart and my head to agree on that :).

A beautiful photo…so peaceful. Sometimes that’s all we need is to simply pause and be thankful. Thank you for the blessed reminder.

You are so welcome. Even in the weekend of busyness there were times to pause and to linger in the grace moments.

Two of my favorites – the verse is my life verse & that’s one of my favorite songs! ☺
Thanks for sharing!

The verse was the theme verse for the weekend. And we sang the song a lot! Missed you this weekend :(.

Thank you so much for this. I really needed to hear these thoughts. My mind is so busy, as well, as we are preparing for the coming holidays. Lots of chatter. You helped me slow it down. The fear factor gets to me sometimes, but I simply chant my mantra about me and the Lord God and I am calm. Peace to you Chicken Grandma.

I am glad it helped! I put my Christian radio station on and blast it out. I just need to be reminded as well that God’s got it….no matter what IT is. I have found that fear can just suck you dry.
May you be blessed in the holiday preparations as well! Peace and blessings.

My brain just would not function yesterday. It is still a little iffy today LOL. I am wishing I would have had time to sit on that bench under the tree this past weekend as it was green and beautiful this time around. Maybe next year…….

Where is the beautiful place? If you said where I missed it which is normal for me.
Aren’t we blessed to be a child of the living God.

It is on the border between Iowa and South Dakota. If you click on the words Inspiration Hills it should take you to their website. They also have lodges for family gatherings and campgrounds. In the summer they are a church camp.

I am so happy that you enjoyed such a fulfilling retreat. Inspiration Hills is such an ideal name for a gathering place for families and children. I am going to visit their website. The verse is also one of my favorites…so many are favorites…all are vital to our lives. It is just that some verses strike a special chord within us. Mo-Ranch is a wonderful Presbyterian retreat, camp, and conference center in the Texas Hill Country. Their website is https://www.moranch.org …if you visit the site, go to the Menu and click on Explore for some very nice pictures! This is ironical, but there is an area of the camp called Inspiration Point!

I am going to have to check out that link!
Inspiration Hills is an awesome place. They have been adding smaller lodges in the last couple years so family groups can rent them.
And yes it was a great weekend. Lots of God moments.

God moments…joyful moments! I looked at the website for Inspiration Hills last night! Looks so very wonderful! I was wanting to go there immediately! You mentioned a bench! At Mo-Ranch, there is also a bench or two at the high point of the land. Just right for quiet and personal contemplation!
