Just a little background on me……the woman you now know as the Chicken Grandma.  My name is Faye Kroese.  Actually, Faye is my middle name but the one I have always used.  I am a wife to the same man, Larry, for 37 years (going on 38).  Mom to three great sons, Jared, Luke and Joe.  Mom in law to three amazing women, Andrea (Jared), Breanna (Luke) and Becca (Joe).  I also have three grandchildren, James, Madison, and Lincoln; who hold my heart in their little hands.

I live on a farm and have my own small flock of chickens.  To my grandchildren I am known as the Chicken Grandma.  I also love to garden, go to Bible Study, do crafts of most kinds, read, go camping, share YL essential oils and hang out with family and friends.

I have been so blessed with the friends and family that God has put in my life.  I look forward to getting to know those of you who take the time to connect on this blog.  May you all be blessed.

Hi Chicken Grandma. I use to have chickens. I still garden, can, freeze, raise fruit, and live in the country. I am a grandma, a wife to my husband for decades, love nature. Am a church going lady, love crafts, and am into photography. You have a lovely family.

Hi Faye, I’m shannon. I’m called Grama Cow, a name give to me by my now 23 year old grandson when he first started talking. We used to raise a couple cows each year, we gave up the cows but we are still Grama and Grampa Cow to all the grands. I love the looks we get from other people. I’m excited to check out more of your blog

Well come on over and visit anytime!! Sometimes we are serious over here and sometimes we are not :). Kind of random…..I kind of post whatever hits me for the day. There are so many times I start a post and by the time I am done the direction I thought it would take has totally changed. I love it when God plans something a little different. I should say I USUALLY love it.

One Rhode Island Red (my favourite), a Sussex Star (white with a black star), a Dutch Blue, and a Speckledy. I called them my girls and referred to them by their colours. I miss the eggs to0. Problem was we moved back in to the City and they attracted all the rats – I gave them to a neighbour in the country and made a clean break so I would get over them. Red died though. So how many and what breed do you have.

I have 28 of them. Various breeds – Rhode Island Red (my best layers), Black Australorp (love these), Buff Orpingtons (very tame), Plymouth Barred Rock, Silver-laced Wyandottes, and Americauna (one of them is my favorite because of her coloring and her nature). I also call them my girls. Right now they are not producing so great as they are molting. With all the feathers that are flying around here it looks they should all be bald. It will not be long and they will be beautiful again.

We already have something in common. I go by my middle name as well. I am Victor Alfred Hood, but you can call me Al! (You may have seen that on my about page.)

    Beautiful family, Faye!

Good Morning! Mike and I are wondering if you are having lot of snow again!! I read your niece’s blog last night! She is very beautiful and seems so sweet and accomplished! I don’t know how she gets everything done and home schools and blogs and takes care of her home and has time for her business! Plus…all of those precious little children! I need to take lessons from her…perhaps a series of lessons! I can’t wait to possibly (hopefully) meet her. From the pictures…I think you two look quite alike. Do you think so? Well…I better go get something done!!!

The snowplow came through this morning to open up our road. We did get some pretty good snowfall. Which is okay cause I am restricted on things for 6 weeks anyway!
Ashley is a wonderful woman and I think you two would really hit it off. I laughed on the takes care of her home…..She would be the first to admit that if something “slides” for lack of time it is her house.
Her children are so much fun!
